Packet in Sarasota

Two questions:

First, will I able to find packet on 144 or 440 here in the Sarasota area? If so, what are the frequencies?

Secondly, I am interested in purchasing a TNC. Does anyone know what are the preferred brands and models?

I believe one of the packet freq. in this area is 145.090. This is the freq. we use for WinLink.

As for a good TNC...Kantronics makes a couple that are good. The KPC-3 and the 9612 are pretty universal.

The Tampa Bay Hamfest is just around the corner in December and I'm sure you'll be able to find some there.

Hopefully this will help, and if not, maybe other will chime in.
