Special Intrest Groups

At the May SERC meeting I presented an idea about having some special intrest groups. These groups would specialize in an aspect of the hobby. Here are a few of the groups I have thought of... Contesting, packet, APRS, emcomm, D-STAR. These groups could meet after the regular meeting on at another time and place. Also, if there are any members that would like to Elmer some of us newwer HAMS, please step up and share your knowledge.

While I am no computer tech, I would love to see a VOIP group for Echolink & IRLP (and other technologies that may come up).

I don't recall where the progress is at for the new Echolink on the 73. Anyone care to update me?

The update on the Echolink project at the 73 is that we are STILL waiting on Comcast to finish their end of the project. The fiberoptic line has been run to the repeater room at the tower site; however, they need to install the modem and get us hooked up. No estimate as to when this will occur, but I am still following closely. Hope this helps!

Don't know what format or how we'd do it but I'd love to be on HF more. Wonder if there are any ideas about that or anyone knows of anything in existance to model something after. Just wondering...
