N4SER members,

The RSGB IOTA (http://www.rsgbiota.org/) (Islands on the Air Contest) is this coming weekend. Full details available here (http://www.rsgbcc.org/hf/rules/2011/riota.shtml).

If you are an island chaser this is a great time to pick up some new ones. If not then the IOTA contest is a great place to start.
If you submit your log to the RSGB (http://www.rsgb.org/) all islands contacted will be automatically verified so you do not have to send cards to a checker. :D This makes it MUCH easier to get IOTA confirmations.

Never contested, or are just a contest novice? This is a good contest to get your feet wet. Contacting an island and finding out just where it is makes this a fun weekend. And, who knows, you could end up with a nice certificate to hang in your shack. All it takes is 100 islands which should be pretty easy to do. There is a very nice 'Guide for new Comers' link on the IOTA contest page.

The free contest logging program N1MM (http://n1mm.hamdocs.com/) can be set up to log the IOTA contest. If you have never used N1MM for contesting you should take a look at it. It is free and very comprehensive. Should you need help setting up N1MM post your question(s) here.

I've became a casual island chaser many years ago getting my 100 islands certificate in 2000. Hoping to hit 200 during the contest.

I'd love to hear if you intend on operating and just how you did ...
